Developing Literary Taste with English Literature

Develop a genuine literary taste and a deeper connection with the English language through close reading of poetry, prose, and drama from classic and contemporary writers. This course sharpens critical thinking, expands vocabulary, and builds confidence in discussing and writing about literature at an advanced level.

• Close reading and textual analysis of prose, poetry, and drama
• Literary devices: metaphor, symbolism, tone, voice, and structure
• Guided reading of selected classic and contemporary works
